    Not Genuine Windows

    Hi All

I am using Windows 7 build 7264 and all of a suddent it is coming up with this message.

Can anyone enlighten me as to why? By the way I was merely opening a notepad file when it popped up.

windows 7 build 7264 does not accept RC/Beta Keys, you have to use the rearm method to get upto 120 days without a key,

I have only had it installed a few days and it popped up today. I thought that by "activating" it it would solve the problem but problem still exists now when I check the status it says Status : not available
    Product ID: Not available

    Got me flummoxed

    Hi Again

Could the use of a watermark remover have caused this and if so how can I fix it?

don't think watermark has anything to do with this. check the 7264 leak thread, everyone seems to report the same issue as you with the product not getting genuine, because this build does not accept the RC keys as genuine anymore, microsoft did this change in build 7264 on purpose, I asume becuase it was an RTM Candadate, and as you know the final RTM will require special keys for activation and getting genuine.

Hi, I did have the same with the Orb**30 patch activation. The watermark is gone (left the evaluation copy one). Now it says i've got "30 before automatic activation". For my part I'm gonna let it run until automatic activation...:) See what's happen...maybe the system will get use to it. I'm receiving well all updates from WU, so though!

Well, will use rearm process after for 120 days. It is no big deal as for the moment it doesn't tells me i'm wrong.

You have to reboot at least two times. It helps cleaning some history files and cached one.

Maybe you'll have to flush the "prefetch" folder to clean a bit the applications that have been loaded.

I'm using the old Jester 2K "Windows-xp-prefetch-clean-and-control", run as admin.
