I have, as far as I can tell, a perfectly running W7 installation with Firefox 4 as my browser. I don't want to install IE 10. Windows Update keeps reminding me that there is an important update ready. It is IE10. Is there any way I can keep Update from reminding me that I don't want to have this unimportant to me update?

I presume you mean IE 9. If your truly adamant about not using it, you can hide the update in windows update and it wont bother you again.Just right click on the IE9 update and select hide.

Hi jsquareg. On the window's update page is there an option to hide the update? It might be on that page or if you click on the update it may be on that page. Click on it if you can find it. I know how annoying that is. Let us know if that worked. :)

You should still install IE9 for the security enhancements and integration with other products. You may not be actively using it, but your system still does. Not installing updates exposes you to vulnerabilities you may not be aware of. Don't let stubbornness cause your system to be non-secure. If you're that anti-MS, use Linux.

Yeah well how about the reports of USB ports going inactive after this last round of updates.
Please stop the BS. You talk/write like MS is GOD and they never get anything wrong (Windows ME and Vista).
Now comes the old line made by many people about many different pieces of software when a update or just the base program fails in some way. It your hardware not the software.
