0xc00000e9 error after Windows 7 update
Using the Windows 7 automatic update manager, I installed several system updates including SP1. This is on a month-old, perfecly running Lenova laptop with Windows 7 64 bit Pro.
The updates seemed to install without a hitch. On the reboot, windows configured itself and booted normally. Nothing worked. Clicking icons for Word or Powepoint did nothing. Firefox opened but immediately hung up. I was able to shut the machine down, but the reboot hung up on the opening windows logo. I launched windows repair but it stopped after experiencing "an unexpected I/O error. 0xc00000e9." Safe mode also hung up. At the moment my new laptop that was purring along before this is now an attractive doorstop.
this may be the last straw on the way to linux.
