unable to install the KB listed under windows update.
I believe this is preventing me from getting to SP1.
I believe this is also preventing me from using my Upgrade Anytime license to go from Home Premium to Pro. When I try to run that I get no error # just a message saying it failed. I've been trying to get the OS updated to retry running the upgrade.
Get the Pro installed and then deal with the updates- which may not be a problem after the Pro is installed.
When you get to the other section look for this button
ask for help with install from Home to Pro and some of our install Aces will help get you through it better than I can.
Also you will only have to install SP1 once that way to the Pro. Otherwise you will do it twice.

appreciate it. but everything I've read thus far has said that my anytime upgrade is failing because I'm not on SP1 and may be missing other updates. So I've been trying to get the home premium up to date first and get a clean starting point before upgrading. Does that make sense?
