    Improper restart

I honestly can't tie these two together, but I never had this problem until SP1 was downloaded. I entered into the situation where I needed to restart the computer and it won't do it. It appears to but right before the multicolored balls begin their dance there is a blinking cursor up in the upper left hand quadrant of the screen. This is as far as it goes. The keyboard is dead as ctrl/alt/delete doesn't work. I checked the Microsoft tech area but can't find anything helpful.

    Hi dancinbear. :)
Try this. In #4, choose "startup repair". Windows will do the rest.. Let us know the results.

Boot into System Recovery Options to run Startup Repair a few times.

Use the DVD or Repair CD: System Repair Disc - Create

Startup Repair should automate System Restore, but try it also from the Options list anyway.

    I found it...

Well, I'm almost embarrassed to tell you, but maybe it will help someone else. One of mt usb hubs went south. I just unplugged everything but the mouse. Then I unplugged the mouse and connected it to that hub and it wouldn't restart. Again, thanks for your help. I'll try to troubleshoot more before I cry wolf.
