After updates - this error message

I got this error today after the windows updates. this is my first time to have any issues with the updates.

I'm not that familiar with win 7 updates so please give me the instructions to follow. Like where to find a certain area if I had to delete something. It's a new computer and I haven't had any issues yet so I haven't had to locate certain 'working areas' to fix stuff like I had to do with win xp.

    Can someone help me ASAP?

I would install the updates. Install Sp1 and IE9 by themselves.
Then I would manually scan for any further important updates. Go
through the optional updates as well, often driver and performance updates are found here.
    Also view the message.

can someone tell me what this message means? I haven't updated to the SP1 but after a week of not getting this message, today it started again.

also, last night when trying to play a youtube video, suddenly my screen would flash and turn black, and struggle to come back on which it did and showed an error that said 'display adapter successfully repaired itself" does this happen occassionally? it's only a 5 month old laptop.
