Windows Update Realtek drivers = bad

Well for me anyway. Just did an update today and the latest Realtek drivers that Windows Update downloaded and installed buchered my adapter. I did a roll-back from Device Manager and all is good now.

Not sure what the dealio is but if anyone has had success with this update let me know.

    I have a Gigabyte EP45-DS3R with RTL8111C chipset.

I reverted to drivers with a date of 2/26/08, version 7.2.1127.2008 but may check with Realtek directly soon to see what they have.

Checked the info on the Windows Update version and it says "January 2007". What the hell? This is why I never (normally) use Microsoft updates for ANY drivers, but this one time I had faith in Windows 7's obviously great line-up of built-in drivers so I figured what the heck.

Anyway, Updated my driver from the Gigabyte mobo website and all is good now ... so far! Driver date 7/30/2009 and version 7.5.730.2009 ... now lets see how TF2 works. :)
