    KB2515325 Refuses to Install

Think I've tried everything I've seen mentioned here and elsewhere over the past few weeks to get this KB2515325 update installed and still have not had any success.

I even went as far as to remove some of the other updates that were released along with it as some people has success installing that batch of updates in a certain order.

Can't believe that this update is so stubborn. Anyone else out there still having a problem getting this one installed?

    hi there :)

try this System Update Readiness Tool >>> What is the System Update Readiness Tool?

The System Update Readiness Tool can help fix problems that might prevent Windows updates and service packs from installing. For example, an update might not install if a damaged system file prevents the update from recognizing the version of Windows that's running on your computer.

If your computer is having problems installing an update or a service pack, download and install the tool, which runs automatically. Then, try installing the update or service pack again.

I've tried the system readiness tool as well as running the standalone version of the update. Also tried deleting the WU software download folder and clean booting with minimum start up services.

Does this update do more than update the file explorer.exe? If so would it be possible to replace explorer with an updated file from another computer?

Perform a SFC Scan (System File Check)

    1. Click Start, click All Programs, click Accessories, right-click Command Prompt, and then click Run as administrator. If you are prompted for an administrator password or for a confirmation, type the password, or click Allow

    2. Type the following command, sfc /scannow and then press ENTER:

(A message will appear stating that 'The system scan will begin'. Be patient because the scan may take some time)

    3. If any files require a replace SFC will replace them. You may be asked to insert your Windows 7 DVD for this process to continue

    4. If everything is okay you should, after the scan, see the following message "Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations"

    5. After the scan has completed, close the command prompt window, restart the computer. (TIP repeat scan 3 times)

How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7 >>> How to use the System File Checker tool to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7

The System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) to troubleshoot missing or corrupted system files on Windows Vista or on Windows 7.

If a Windows Resource Protection (WRP) file is missing or is corrupted, Windows may not behave as expected. For example, some Windows functions may not work, or Windows may crash. The System File Checker tool (SFC.exe) scans for missing or corrupted system files and repairs them.
