    KB 976932 service pack 1

After installing above update, Live Mail has stopped working. When I try to create mail a box with message "A problem occured while trying to open this message. A problem has occured. Please try again" This happens with most Live Mail functions. I have tried all the repair tools in control panel and a system restore. The service pack no longer appears in update history but does in installed updates. Error codes ID: 0x80004003 and 0x80070003 have also appeared. Would appreciate any replies are in novice terms as I,m only slightly above that standard.

I don't have anything specific but here is something quick and easy just to make sure no core files were affected by the update.
SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

Give this Microsoft Support tutorial a try :

You receive a "0x80070002" or "0x80070003" error code after you download an update from Windows Update, from Microsoft Update, or from Windows Server Update Services

Note : it has an" automatic fix it " option and a " let me fix it myself " instructions.

thanks for the helpful suggestions. The scannow did report fixing some corrupt files but, unfortunately, my problem was not one of them. The automatic fix had no effect either but neither has anything else I've tried. I,m begining to think that this could be something nasty but I hope not. Thanks again for your time and trouble. Any other ideas would be most welcome and I'll keep you posted.
