Windows Update is using 80-90% of my RAM.

I am well aware that installing Windows updates is a resource intensive task, however, a minute ago my computer was using 89% of its 4GB RAM whilst installing updates. I'd understand if it was a service pack update but these are just single security updates etc. In the processes tab in Task Manager TrustedInstaller was using over 2,000,000K of Private Working Set Memory. Can someone please explain?

    Is it still using memory?

By this time updates had finished installing. One thing that surprised me was the fact that when I installed Service Pack 1 later on today, TrustedInstaller only used about 45% RAM maximum. Weird

The more RAM it uses, the faster it will install. I would not worry about it. It is only very temporary.
