    Folder lock nightmare

During sunday i noticed some folders were starting to get locked so i messed around with permissions and security settings wich was not a good idea. Eventually all of my folders became write protected and locked due to me unchecking certain options, i was also unable to install even the most simple things, java, browsers and so on because i kept getting access denied.

I did try a bunch of solutions such as resetting permissions and security in promt, or simply taking ownership of all folders and such but nothing worked so i decided to reinstall windows 7 64bit.

Its working fine now and i noticed there is no longer an option to lock folders wich means it has to be a windows update wich i would like to avoid at all cost.

If anyone could tell me wich update that adds this feature ?

Are you talking about the little "padlock" icon?

The padlock means its not shared, private only you have access.
