    Fail to update KB2552343

    Hi, all:

    I'm using Windows 7 64bit Professional and failed to update x64-based KB2552343 .
    Reported error is Code 800B0100.

I strictly followed the solution mentioned What is the System Update Readiness Tool?
but nothing changed, still the same error.

Can anybody give me a hand please?

    Cheers
    Pei

Hello, and welcome to the forum! It is really great to see you helping around here!

It is highly unlikely that this is the actual problem for a 0x800B0100 error.

Error Code 800B0100 in Windows Update
    http://www.instantvista.com/800B0100.html
There are better and more comprehensive ways of achieving this.

Error message when you try to use the Windows Update or Microsoft Update Web sites to install
    updates: "0x800B0100"
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/956702
The Win7 section has already been done, and the XP section doesn't apply.

Good suggestion. Usually this is not something I recommend for a 0x800B0100 error, but in this one case I would - described below.

Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, and for Windows 7
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/947821
    Already done.

Indeed you can, but the quality of help, although usually very good can sometimes become long winded, irrelevant Canned Speeches not tailored to individual scenarios, but good analysis of logs, but then often drawn into a reinstall.

Give me a shot first :)

    Hello Pei!

Nicely done! This is a curious 0x800B0100. Most show up as corrupt files in a System Update Readiness Tool log. However, that is not the only cause, and you have a rarer cause of 0x800B0100. I need a few more logs to trace this one down!

Please try this in Aggressive Mode: How do I reset Windows Update components?

It DOES apply to 7, ignore that message at the top.

After that, please try Windows Update again (at best all is now fixed - at worst it puts another error at the end of the log, which provides me with more analytical material)

Then please create a folder on your Desktop called LOGS. Copy the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder, and C:\Windows\WindowsUpdate.log to that new LOGS folder, right click on the new LOGS folder > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder, and upload that new file here.

    Thanks a lot!
