    windows update error


    ok im am having a windows update error code 643.
    for Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB253824)
    does any one know a fix or workaround.

    Hello, and welcome to the Seven Forums!

    That error code is very generic indeed (ERROR_INSTALL_FAILURE).

    Please try the update just once or twice more. Any different error codes?

    Anyway, please copy the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder to your Desktop, right click on it > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder, and upload the new file which is created on your Desktop here.
