    Win 7 SP1 Error 800B0100

    Hi,
Like many previous posts, KB976932 failed with error 800B0100. Tried to download KB947821, which gives installation complete but 1) cannot open the download and 2) it does not show under installed updates. I also tried to download it using explorer and a message indicated that it was not applicable to my computer. Can you please help with a solution. Thank you.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

Double check to see whether SP1 has in fact been installed.

SP1 is definitely not in System and shows as failed in Update History. KB947821 (Microsoft suggested fix) shows as successful in Update History but isn't in Installed Updates.

Hello, and welcome to the Seven Forums!

Please download and install the System Update Readiness Tool from here: Description of the System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista, for Windows Server 2008, for Windows 7, and for Windows Server 2008 R2

After that, please upload C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log, and I shall see if I can patch you up!

    Hi Richard

Have done all that and got as far as sending the Compressed Folder to my desktop, at which point I got a message "File not found or no read permission." Can you give further advice please. Many thanks.

I now have the file on my desktop but I'm new to all this. Can you please advise how I upload the file to you. Sorry to be so ignorant!
