    Updates are just endlessly cycling

We have one lab here that will not update. It will just endlessly check for updates and will never actually find any. It will return once you stop it that "windows 7 is update to date" , yet these computers haven't received updates since August 2010.

[these computers are running w7 prof]

    Deepfreeze is turned off.
    Firewall is turned off.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

    B

Correct me if I'm wrong, but chances are the majority of updates are installed which is why Windows is telling you you're all up to date?

Doesn't seem right there as there would be optional updates to install..

The last update was August 2010. SP1 isn't installed and therefore it is a major update.

If you perform a search in the task-bar for "Windows Update" and open that you have the option to manually choose which updates to install.

There are no updates to install, because it never finishes "checking updates"

You say that automatic updates are enabled, but your machine's haven't been updated since August 2010. Are you sure?

Try checking via the control panel?
