I have not used this program for the simple reason, I have not had to, but see if this will work:

UNLOCKER 1.9.1 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB

There are some things to consider before you use it:

    • Make sure you download the proper bit for your OS, 32 or 64.

    • Go over the screenshots to familiarize yourself with how it works.

    • As you are installing it be aware that it probably has already Opted-You-In to certain promotions, if you do or do not want them check or un-check the box or button accordingly :
      - Promotional feature: Fully optional Bing or Quickstores toolbar depending on location.
      Source: UNLOCKER 1.9.1

    • If you are unsure of the processes that are locking the Folder you want to delete, post a screenshot of them as in #2 of the web site. Make sure it is large enough to see the processes.

And we can go over them. Aww, what the heck post one anyhow.

About posting screenshots, If you are happy with photobucket that is okay, but you can save yourself a step, and it will reduce the clutter in photobucket if you just use the New Folder created after update?-1jre1.jpg button below where you post your replies.
    I know, I have Picasa.....'nough said

There are other unlockers out there, but 'Nitch' gives a convincing argument in his 'Comparison List'.

Some ratings in descending order, (out of 5):
    MajorGeeks| Unlocker 1.9.1 Download | 4.77
    Download Unlocker 1.9.1 Free - Softpedia| 4.25
    Unlocker 1.9.1- CNET Downloads| 3.6

Thanks for the reply again Anak. I've downloaded the unlocker you were recommending and a 64bit version as well but when I try to unlock it it doesn't seem to do anything. When I try to delete the folder its gives me the same error.

You only need to download and run the bit version that matches your system.

Did you follow instructions? Even though I have not used it. It is unusual that it did not work.
Even the poor ones work to some degree.

Can you redo the attempt and post a screenshot of what is keeping the folder locked?

You might have a bug, go here to Corrine's post on running Eset, and F-Secure's on-line scanners, ignore the quote: I Think I May Have A Worm or Virus post #10 run them and see if they come up with anything.

Last resort you might have to do a system restore to before the updates, but they might not be un-installable.

I followed the instruction for the unlocker and it did remove the pad lock but when I try to delete the folder it said it was used in another action. I hope this isn't a worm cause I've actually seen another post in the general section at Temp folder in user

Well then, what are you waiting for? Run those scanner's. Even if you have to run in safe mode with networking.

Jae, if the scans do not come up with anything, a System Restore is not that difficult to do.

    From the other thread:

I would hope I won't have to resort to doing a system restore for this issue, but it seems like there nothing else that can help?

You would only have to rebuild your machine from a week ago, and it does not sound like you have made that many changes since then.

Alright I got rebooted and nothing has changed. Am able to delete the folder but it makes copies of itself saying its a shared folder. Also another unfortunate incident event I just discovered, my system protection aka System restore features was never turned on. So I have no existing restore points to restore too.

There is a plethora of reasons why your problem is happening, but nothing related to malware. But, that is a start.

What malware scanner did you use, did you use the on-line scanners?
I want you to use more than one, and post which ones you have used.
You need to be sure your machine is as free as possible from malware.

Do you log-on when you go to use your machine or do you just start up, and 'notice' this temp folder sitting in your users folder?

When you ran Unlocker 1.9.1 you did not post a screenshot of the processes that are locking the Folder, please re-run Unlocker and post that screenshot.

We need to know what processes are holding this Folder!

You could run this: Process Monitor

Have you turned System Restore on?
