Window updates & restore points
Yesterday I downloaded the latest Windows updates. That required five to six hours. Eventually it said "ready to install." That stage went quickly.
I had hoped that, just maybe, the updates would somehow solve a problem that began recently, but the updates did not effect it. I don't know the cause of the problem and after hours reading about other people suffering the symptoms, I might conclude either that no one seems to know the cause or that many people might know but they know many different and unrelated causes.
What I though I might do is try a restore point from before the symptoms appeared. What I first want to know concerns the many hours of downloading Windows updates. While using the restore points will undo the updates, it almost certainly will not free my disk space of what was downloaded. Is there any way to avoid redoing those six hours of download time but still get back the windows updates after I've used the restore point?
