Batting .500 with 80070005 on 7 Pro 64bit

I've been trying to get perpetual errors from Windows Update eliminated since upgrading to 7 last year. The consistent offenders were the Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 and the Definition Update for MSE (Yes, I've done numerous Malware & Virus scans and come up clean). The errors were always 80070005. So, I would just manually download and install these on a weekly basis to keep them updated. Other packages like Silverlight updates, or updates for SQL, .NET, SP1 and others used to fail, but I seemed to cure those with the ACL repairs detailed on Stebner's blog. Through all this, security updates and regular updates for Windows, Office, IE would work through Windows Update. Throughout, I'd almost always get any broken updates to load by doing them manually.

So I tried option 2 to clear up the rest. And success. For the Malicious Software Removal tool. But not for the MSE update. Still getting 80070005 on that one.

Any ideas?
