    Windows 7 - Unable to Update KB2478663 and KB2518870 error 800b0100

I'm getting this Windows Update error when installing KB2478663 and KB2518870:

    WindowsUpdate_00000643" "WindowsUpdate_dt000
    1. 1 Troubleshoot problems with installing updates2. 2 Windows Update error 800B0100

I've been through all suggestions mentioned, and got from another article in this forum that running the following commands might fix the issue or collects the necessary info to help finding the culprit:
    sfc /scannow
    System Update Readyness Tool

Those commands did not fix the issue, here are the results included, is someone able to help me?

    https://skydrive.live.com/?cid=27e6a...5D1A492AF7!390

Go there and download the dotnetfx_cleanup_tool

See if that helps. The patches you are having trouble with are .net framework updates.

    Hi Maguscreed,

    Your suggestion has helped wonderfully!
I needed to run several instances of Windows Update afterwards, but that's no problem of course.
    Thanks for the useful tool.

my win7pro64 is not booting in normal mode after some recent windows updates, and i believe those two KB2518870 and KB2478663 updates are responsible for it. therefore, i have downloaded the above-mentioned dotnet tool from skydrive link, run it in safe mode, and it said it succeeded in clean-up. i can't still download these two updates from MS update catalog manually. every time i try downloading those two files by putting them in the basket, the following happens:
The website has encountered a problem.
    [Error number: 80282001]
how do i get my system back? TIA.

    UPDATE: 28/7/11:

still no fix. windows update failure has become a regular headache, and therefore, no more windows purchase for me. i can easily see why more and more folks are switching to OSX day by day. high time to ditch windows for a very valid reason.
