    Windows Update returns errors

Almost every time I've done a Windows Update check I get an error - either the windows servers aren't in the firewall exclusions or the time isn't syncronised between my PC and the update servers. Or something equally unintelligible!

Anybody had similar or other results?

Hello castalla, welcome to Se7en Forums!

No, as a matter of fact I just checked when I saw this and all seems to be in order here, as it has been every time I've used WU in Windows 7. I haven't heard of any similar issues so far.

You haven't applied any of the hacks floating around have you; because there's an issue with some of those and WU.

    It's the beta release.

No patches applied. But I am using the 'pre-released' beta.

If I reinstall using the actual beta, will the key I have work?

    Hello again.

Yes if you re-install the "official" beta, and it's one of the legitimate keys MS issued in the last few days it should work.

    Keep us informed!

Okay - I'm downloading the 'official' release now - probably tomorrow before I can get it up and running again. Thanks for your replies.

Installed the 'official' .iso - Update problems have disappeared.

    Cheers
