    error 80070570 will not install sp1


    Hi
    I have tried to install win 7 SP1 from updat got errors 800B0100 ran rediness tool and installed ok now get 8007070 and install fails

    any ideas?

    Hello!

    Just going on that error code alone, I would guess that you had either some corrupt .cat files, or some corrupt .mum files from a Windows Update pre May 2011, along with some corrupt .manifest files. The System Update Readiness Tool (SURT) then fixed the corrupt .cat/.mum files, leaving just the .manifest files from a different update, with a later release date (post May 2011 most likely), changing your error code.

    That is how much information your error codes can give :)

    Now, onto the fix!

    Please upload your C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CheckSUR.log file, and I will create a fix just for your computer.

    Well, that was slightly unexpected. Let's have a deeper look:

    Please copy the C:\Windows\Logs\CBS folder to your Desktop, right click on it > Send to > Compressed (zipped) folder, and upload the new file which is created on your Desktop here.

    Hi Richard,
    attached CBS folder hope it helps driving me crazy!

    machine Samsung N220 netbook
    upgraded to Win 7 home premium
    all other updates, (defender) install no problem with windows update

    Fixed it


    Hi
    now got it installed,
    1. did bios update
    2. rerun rediness tool
    3. SP1 installed
      My Computer
