See my reply No8 . Here is the workaround given in the relevant Forum (Squeezebox Forum) once more. I tried this after installing SP1 but could not access the SB server through the usual URL http://127.0.0.1:9000/

WORKAROUND :-
1 control panel/windows firewall/advanced settings
2 go to inbound rules
3 locate ALL rules named "Squeezebox Server" and DELETE them
4 Make NEW rule
Name: Squeezebox Server
Program : direct it to the SqueezeSrv.exe file on your computer
-> Usualy at C:\Program Files (x86)\Squeezebox\server\SqueezeSvr.exe
Protocol: UDP
Specific Ports: 3483, 9000, 9090
Advanced/profiles/private (private only)
5 Make NEW rule
Name: Squeezebox Server
Program : All Programs
Protocol: TCP
Specific Ports: 3483, 9000, 9090
Advanced/profiles/private (private only)"

Some people say they got this to solve it .

I realise this is all off-topic here and its not exactly the end of the world with this problem .
I'll follow everyones advice here and re-install SP1 for the sake of Security and try to take it further with Logitec who are ultimately responsible.

I also have a Logitec Squeezebox (and its Server). I currently don't have a Window 7 machine lying around, as my Win 7 laptop is currently being borrowed, but I will have it back in a few days. That laptop has SP1 on it. I can if necessary test things out, for anyone.

However, in the meantime, I am sure we can help just by using those posted instructions.

Have you managed to follow those instructions? Have you run through all of the steps, unknowingly correctly or not, and it still doesn't work, or are you getting stuck at a particular step?

Just saw something else. Are you sure that URL is correct? (127.0.0.1:9000/) That's a loopback to your PC (local host) but it doesn't look like a valid IPv4 format. What happens if you change it to "127.0.0.1/9000"?

I am using IE9 and don't know whether the squeezebox server is compatible.

Yes it is correct

. What happens if you change it to "127.0.0.1/9000"?

The same result I think. I'm just about to re-install SP1 .When I do I'll confirm this.
