Windows 7: updates in italics?

Well, if you tell people the same thing for long enough they begin to believe you, so much so that even I was starting to wonder whether I'd seen them.

At my age, the marbles rattle uncontrollably at times.

Bit of a daft idea, if you ask me. Surely, it can't be too difficult for Microsoft to ensure you only get offered updates that are relevant to whicherever version you're using?

If the italic ones are optional, and the non-italic ones not optional, then why do they both show in the non-essential part of Windows Update?

That is not the case.

As i explained previously, updates in italics are for Ultimate versions of Windows 7 only.

The fact that they are optional is irrelevant.

Correct-a-mondo Andy, I had 96 optional language pack updates all in italics.
EDIT maybe not, I just got this one not in italics.

Some how I managed to change Windows 7 Home to use italics in all the upper menu's of Office 2010 and other programs that use Windows 7 fonts. Is there a way to change the default font to be something other then italic. I have a hard time reading them sometimes. Thank you for your assistance Joe

Everything is in italics?
I have no idea, what the heck I did, but everything seems to be in Italics:huh: I don't know what the heck I did, and I thought about doing a system restore as I am not sure how the heck this happened. And I didn't change anything in the personalization themes section of Control Panel. Any ideas...

I have all italics in IE8 & Outlook!!
Well this issue started about a week ago, I still have not figured out what caused it or how to fix it, I tried some fixes I found on a Vista message board but they don't seem to work, & yes I went to the font settings & tried to make the changes plus changed them in IE8 & Outlook.
