    SP1 Update

After clean installing my system, one of the first things I did was install SP1. I downloaded the near 1GB exe from ms.com, and is now installed. But the update still shows up on windows update. Is there a way to get rid of it other than hiding it?

This tutorial will show you how to reset the Windows Update history list. It doesn't remove any updates.

ccloyd, normally when that happens go let the windows update figure it out and then it will most likely not download the sp1, it will figure out that it is already installed and jump to the next update. After sp1, there are most likely lots of other updates that you will need.

You really did not have to download the full 1gig sp1, It might have been easier to let windows update get what it needs.
