Bing download causes black screen

In the last couple of weeks, sometimes when I power on, I get nothing but a black screen. I have to do a hard turnoff, then press escape and do a restore. I checked update history, and everytime it shows - Bing Bar 7.0 (KB2528989) had been installed. Since I did a restore, the bing bar doesn't show where I can uninstall, so I had to disable automatic updates so I can use the computer! I don't want Bing - it is NOT critical, and need to know how to stop it without having to disable updates. If I let it install, I can't get past the black screen and have to restore, and then can't uninstall it, and it installs again!
I have an HP Mini 311-1037-NR, with Windows Home Premium.
