    restored computer, windows lost genuine

I used Windows Restore to restore files from a different computer (old computer crashed) now the new computer is not genuine and it wont accept any Windows 7 key. Also, all previous restore points are missing.

You restored files from a completely different PC and now your surprised that Activation has failed? You've corrupted your system files. There are a lot of files that are specific to the hardware windows was installed to, especially those tied to windows activation. I'd say its time to re-install windows.

I did the same thing on a previous computer and it didn't mess up.
Also, I select only the user folder I never thought that would mess it up.

To properly analyse and solve problems with Activation and Validation, we need to see a full copy of the report produced by the MGADiag tool (download and save to desktop - http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?linkid=52012 )
    Once saved, run the tool.
Click on the Continue button, which will produce the report.
To copy the report to your response, click on the Copy button in the tool (ignore any error messages at this point), and then paste (using either r-click/Paste, or Ctrl+V ) into your response.
    - **in your own thread**, please

I have a similar problem. My son's laptop had a major crash so we re-imaged the drive from an image backup of his C Drive that I stored on one of my External drives. Then it started to report that it was not genuine. Tried the phone activation but that failed and reported that the win 7 could be a pirate copy.

It was bought from Amazon UK at the start of this year.

I used the MS diagnostic tool and have pasted the results below.

    Any help welcome.

This is another Blocked MSDN Key - contact the vendor (if they haven't skipped town) and demand a refund, and notify Amazon MarketPlace.
