Computer with A new Windows 7 Proffesional is saying its not Genuine

My computer had gotten an upgrade from Vista to 7. I had had this upgrade for a month now, but all of a sudden Windows is saying my version isn't genuine when i think it actually is.

    Welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

How and where did you get your Windows 7 upgrade DVD?

What do you mean, you THINK it is ?

Do you have your Windows 7 install dvd ?

30 days is the limit before you have to activate it.

What does it say in Computer Properties ?

Have you put your Key in to activate the copy of Windows? If not, that could cause the problem you are having.

I had gotten a close friend to upgrade it with a Windows 7 Professional CD he bought straight from Microsoft. I do not know if he had entered the CD key or not.

If your "friend" had used the key before, it can't be re-used until the first install is not active. even though you had a Vista key, you still need your own Windows 7 Pro key

No it is not activated. I'm going to see if my friend still has the key.

If he used it to activate his computer, you will have to get your own.

If you don't use a Key that you purchased, not the one your friend is using on his PC, then indeed your version is not genuine just as Windows is saying. At some point it will stop working.
