Trying to install windows7

    Trying to install windows7


    I would like to instal a fresh copy of windows7 on my laptop but don't have the disks. However i found the product keys on the bottom of my laptop that i am sure are windows7. now where do i find the disks? if someone could help me i would appreciate it

    Welcome Fastdrive to the windows 7 forums.

    It would help to know what kind of laptop you have. You evidently have an oem version of windows 7. Most laptop vendors will send you a set of re-install disks for a small fee. Other people's windows 7 disks most likely will not allow you to install using your laptops product key.

    Check your manual for details of the manufacturer's Recovery system - they are legally required under the terms of their license with Microsoft to provide you with a means of returning the system to its ex-factory state. Most manufactuers interpret this as providing a Recovery partition, which will either boot from keystrokes during the POST process, or from which disks can be burned.
