    Hello!

This looks to be a service error. Some services depend on other services.

That "Dependency Service or Group Failed to Start" error means that the Windows Firewall service itself is not the problem, but one of the services it depends on is.

Can you please attempt to manually start all of following services, ignore any "Dependency Service or Group Failed to Start" error messages, but copy out the text and error code of any other error message, and which service is failing to start, or take another screen capture.

    Windows Firewall Authorisation Driver
    Base Filtering Engine
    Remote Procedure Call (RPC)
    DCOM Server Process Launcher

    Thanks a lot!

Hello ^_^ First of all thanks a lot for answering! I'm relieved now, I thought nobody would answer (since the first posts I made had super fast answers, I was a bit scared xD)

Windows Firewall Authorization Driver does not appear in the list

Base Filtering Engine was already started, I stopped it and started it again without any problems

Remote Procedure Call (RPC) was started, and I wasn't able to stop it because the stop button appeared in grey letters (when you can't click something)

DCOM server Process Launcher was started to and like RPC , I couldn't stop it since the stop button was grey too

    Any other solution?

    Bye and thanks

Hi, not a lot of help for you I'm afraid, but I can tell you I have been having problems trying to install "Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2607576)" which is one you apparently installed sucessfully, as it gives me the blue screen of death every time I try to install it. I have had similar problems with two other recent updates as well, as follows.

"Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Syatems (KB2564958)" gives me BSOD sometimes, other times just hoggs all my internet access for other computers with intensive broadband activity and continues running for hours on end while saying "Preparing to Configure Windows", I tried installing for up to 4 hours so far then I gave up and shut down. As it then only reported a pending status for the installation I restored my system.

Also "Cumulative Security Update for Internet Explorer 9 for Windows 7 for x64-based systems" gives me BSOD as well.

Luckily I made restore points prior to these installs so I was able to restore my system each time, but it seems I am currently unable to install these updates sucessfully.

Good luck with your problems, Dave
