Update for MS Office 2010 KB 2515417

    Hi everyone,
I don't have MS Office 2010 installed on my laptop but I did receive update KB 2515417 and since I have automatic update enabled,
my laptop has been trying to install it with no result.
But I have Office Starter that came preloaded which I activated and all of a sudden it wont open. I think it might be related to this update issue.
My question is, if I install MS Office 2010 will this update KB 2515417 install automatically and resolve the issue?
However in all programs I can see MS Office 2010 but if I click to open it I will be prompted to activate or go online to purchase it.
It is also listed in control panel/programs and features.
    What are you guys recommending?
    Thanks for any help.

    pare,
    * Do you actually use Office Starter 2010?
You have to make the choice as to the suitability of it...

    * Should you decide to go with Microsoft Office 2010 instead you had better check out the cost.

    * Re Office Starter not opening > have you a System Restore point created PRIOR to the date where Office Starter played up?

    * BTW, it appears that Office Update KB2515417 does apply to Office Starter.
Check in Update History to see if it is listed there.

Here I am trying to uninstall Microsoft Office Starter 2010 from Control Panel and I get this pop up window telling met to Please wait until the current program is finished uninstalling or being changed.
Well I have been waiting all night long (Lionel Richie)
To be honest I did not expect it to uninstall without issue.
    What's next? Revo Uninstaller?
Pardon me but this is frustrating.
    Thank you Hewlett Packard.
    Guys please help!

Turned out that by leaving Control Panel I came across with this pop up window asking me to verify if I really wanted to uninstall
    Office Starter.
I said yes and gone with the wind. Update KB 2515417 also gone!
Now I am going to install MS Office Home and Student.
    Thanks again JMH
