Bother!

I'll have to do some research - something has moved the Network Profile profile somewhere - and I don't know where.

Perhaps...
Please do a search for a file named TOKENS.DAT in the Windows folder - it may take a while.
Where does it find it? (if anywhere)?

Please run the following command
reg query HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList\S-1-5-20

There is something really screwy going on - and I really have no idea where to go from here. This is the first time that I've actually got this far in tracking down the source of this particular error - so I've learned something, at least. It's a relatively rare error, and it's not often that there's someone at the other end who's as accommodating as you I'll sleep on it - and probably have a nightmare or two - and see if I can dream up some sensible approach.

If you want to call it a day with me, at this point I couldn't blame you.

All I can really suggest is either a repair install, a flatten-and-rebuild, or trying MS's WGA support (or me floundering for a while, unless we get lucky).

WGA Support can be found here-
North America: http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/cu_sc_genadv_master?ws=support&ws=support#tab4

Outside North America:
http://support.microsoft.com/contactus/?ws=support#tab0

Please let us know if (and how) MS manage to repair the problem without a repair install of the OS - it would be useful for future reference!
