Why do you have to hide windows updates more than one time? Some times over and over till it gets it.

PS: And I don't aways even have the program installed in some MS office cases. One I needed to hide five times and that was the last one on the list.

    Hello chuckbam,

Can you give us the KB number of the update{s} you refer to?

In my experience it is rare that any "hidden" update is re-offered.

It is only when I go to hide them for the first time. This one it took me 3x to hide. I used to had the same problem with Vista. Also, complete different computers. I figured MS wants to discourage people from hiding update???

Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - November 2011 (KB890830)

You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.
    Update type: Important

I down load the manual version of this some times

I would suggest that the Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool x64 - (KB890830) should NOT be hidden.

You can still run it manually at other times if you so desire...

The MSRT is re-issued every month - so hiding last months will not prevent this months from being downloaded (hiding MSRT is not recommended anyhow)
Hiding an update only hides *that version* of the update, if the update is itself updated, then it will reappear in WU
