New windows installation 64bit Windows 7 crashing at 15% configuring.

Just re-installed windows 7 64bit brand new. I've noticed two times recently that after I get all bunch of windows automatic scheduled updates I had problems with rebooting as normal. To be more specifically, the screen get stuck at 15% configuring service pack..
I never had this problem before and I use the sale old Windows service Pack1 CD that I bought 2 years before. Is this some kind of update bug in the updates?

If you can obtain a windows 7 sp1 integrated iso you can use your current key with the newer disc and avoid the sp1 update altogether.

This is the approach I have taken to since xp had its first service pack. The integrated fresh installs always seemed a little faster and less resistant to future change.

Download Windows 7 ISO
towards the bottom of the page.
Keep in mind it's completely useless if you don't have a legit key.
Also make sure to download the version you have i.e. home, ultimate, pro
So that your key will match with the version installed.

There is actually a way to use your current install disc and an application to make your own integrated sp1 install disc, but I found this to be slightly problematic and time consuming for someone unfamiliar with the process.

Try installing all the other Updates first with reboots and save SP1 for last, running it from WIndows Update.

Next download and try running it from Standalone installer.
