Unable to Install MS Office SP 3

    Hi,

I am unable to install MS Office Home & Student 2007 Service Pack 3.
I have downloaded it from the automatic MS Update, and also from the separate download site (both of which is very time-consuming on a slow broadband connection!), but the installation keeps failing. I have probably run an attempt 5 or 6 times now.
Can anybody suggest a reason, and also what I could try to succeed, please?

    Many thanks,
    Tiger7

What error message do you get?

    Did you download from here:

Description of the 2007 Office suite SP3 and of Office Language Pack 2007 SP3

Is your downloaded file this size:

    368,945,248 bytes

    And named this:

    office2007sp3-kb2526086-fullfile-en-us.exe

    And this version, from properties:

    12.0.6612.1000

The above is taken from my own version of Office 2007 Service Pack 3, which installed perfectly.

    Thanks for that!

    Right click the exe file.

    Go to properties.

Then go to "details" within properties; that should show the version number.

I can't really help you otherwise.

Are you positive your original Office 2007 installation is from a valid and authentic official disk?

There is always a remote chance that your download is corrupted.

If nothing else, I'd get on the phone to MS.

You might want to save the download to your hard drive first then try and install it from there, but first right-click the download, and then choose Run as Adminstrator.

Has your copy of Office 2007 activated alright? If so, that suggests the software is genuine.

If there is a problem with your application's validity, a message will appear in the ribbon stating that the software is not genuine.
