Unable to update to Service Pack 1 - Windows 7 Home Pre x64

I'm having trouble updating to service pack 1 in Win 7 x64 Home Pre by Dell OEM.
There is another post that the problem can be solved using the log file so I have tried using the Readiness Tool and the log is as followed:

Are you trying to install SP1 through Windows Update?

Or through the stand-alone file available for download from Microsoft (windows6.1-KB976932-X64.exe), which is 903 MB in size?

@JMH: Thanks, I will try to follow those steps carefully.
@ignatzatsonic: I'm updating through the Windows Update and the update package is only ~13 MB. It's really strange that the Service Pack update is only that size

Not really - it simply means that almost every file required is already installed. The standalone is that large because it contains every conceivable file that may be required by any computer - probably only half of it would be applicable to yours, even if you'd never updated your machine.

As a last resort, I would try the standalone.

I've seen instances where it worked when Windows Update would not.

I've tried the standalone installer. The problem still persists. I think the problem comes from the OEM version of Dell that removes some window components and make it unable to update. I will try to reinstall a fresh version, also to get rid of the bloatwares in the system.
