    No importnant updates

    Hi all,
I am confused about this updates.I have no importnant updates for my windows for about 2 weeks now.Is this normal or my laptop is messed up.I have only optional updates and these are the language packs and update for my antivirus Security Essentials.I have SP1 installed also.My laptop is one month old and i dont want to mess something.
Can someone explain me about this updates and is this normal? the last importnant update was on 15. 11. 2011

    Installation date: ‎15.‎11.‎2011 17:45

    Installation status: Successful

    Update type: Important

A security issue has been identified leading to MFC application vulnerability in DLL planting due to MFC not specifying the full path to system/localization DLLs. You can protect your computer by installing this update from Microsoft. After you install this item, you may have to restart your computer.

So long as you have a whole oad of updates already installed, that's fine - the next scheduled date for updates to be released is the 13th Dec.
Unless critically important, MS attempts to schedule Windows Updates for the Second Tuesday of every month.

Unfortunately, Office never has liked sticking to the rules, and so issues them pretty much as they like - although you'll never see them unless you have Microsoft Updates switched on rather than just Windows Updates.

MSE or Defender Updates will come down as often as they are issued, and your internal updater finds them (often every day)

What Noel DP says is correct.

    Re your update settings -
    * I suggest you change them to notify you but let you choose when to download them.
This way you know exactly what is being installed & when..
Do a few at a time only rather than "oodles" at once.

    * Always make sure you have a current system restore point prior to downloading anything.
