No updates for a few weeks

    Hiya there

I was just browsing my computer today finding my way around Windows 7, I went to the Windows Update listings and found that My last windows update was 10 Nov 2011.

Now I have my computer set to inform me, but not download or install (I do install generally as soon as I am notified of any updates), and it occurred to me that in fact I hadn't seen the notifications for a while (I guess updates are like toothache, you don't notice when they are NOT there)

I started Windows Update manually and it seemed to connect then told me 'No new updates' .. now it may just be that there has been no recent batch of updates but 10 Nov to 7 Dec seems a long time in my experience.. Has there been any more recent (critical) updates anyone know ?

Should be Dec. 13th for next batch.
    Second Tuesday of the month.

Sometimes there are earlier updates but not every month.

If your running MSE antivirus or Windows Defender then they are sometimes everyday.

I think its now just Tuesdays, as the 16th was the 3rd Wednesday in November! The date the update occurred also is dependant on whether the system was on or off!

Next week you will be offered new updates.
It's also known as Patch Tuesday or Wednesday, depending where in the world you are...
On rare occasions (if a security vulnerability warrants it), Microsoft might release a patch out-of-band (meaning not on patch Tuesday/ Wednesday)... doesn't often happen though.

IMHO tis a good idea to have your computer set to inform you, but not download or install any updates offered. :)
Would also recommend you do a few at a time rather than oodles at once.

    Reminder....
Make sure you have a current System Restore Point created PRIOR to down loading any updates.
