An upgrade install to the RTM build worked great for me.
I have had the leaked Windows 7 Build ISO in my Downloads folder taking up space for ages. I want to upgrade to it (Upgrades from Beta/RC to RTM aren't available so I used Windows Easy Transfer) The only reason I haven't installed it is that I'm not sure theres a way to keep it activated and I'd rather stay with RC till 2010 than with RTM for 4 Months by rearming. I probably would've installed it anyway but my whole family (4 Other people) are using the laptop while the Desktop gets repaired and they wouldn't appreciate me doing that. Oh and BTW has your been Activated? If it has can you tell me the steps on how you did it?

Thanks,
ZeshanA

No mine has NOT yet been activated. I'm waiting for a TechNet subscription MS is supposedly giving me to become active so I can get a legal key, hopefully in the very near future.

My original plan was to keep re-arming until October when the key I preordered will be delivered. If the Technet thing really comes through, then I'll just be canceling my pre-order.

If you have a bunch of machines you need 7 for, I would just bite the bullet and pay for a Technet subscription or get the "family pack." I don't mind paying for great software if the price is fair. The special (now no longer available) preorder price for Home Premium for ~$50 was very fair and reasonable, imo, and I was very happy to be able to take advantage of that.

Kind of hard to understand what you are trying to say, so many internal inconsistencies in your post. But it sure sounds like you didn't read the link I posted above that you even quoted. So for the benefit of anyone else who may be reading this, I'll just correct the record here and say that you are very WRONG about upgrades from RC to RTM not being possible. The fact is, upgrades from the beta/rc to the RTM are possible and I even gave you a link to a MS site that explains step by step how it can be done. I'm reminded of the old saying, "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink."

Ok, Thanks for all your help but I think I'm just gonna live with it and dual-boot the RC with the RTM, keep rearming it and then buy a product key in October.

P.S Harpua you really did help me and I totally agree with your Sig but erm... I don't know how to Rep as I'm new to this whole "Forum Thing"! So... one last piece of advice? Please...

EDIT: So THATS what the scales button is for!!! LOL

Thanks,
