Repair Install Seven after SP1

Hi
I bought a new PC (with Seven family) few months after Seven SPI was issued. later I bought a windows Seven Ultimate 64b), few more months after SPi was isssued. In stores they were none (and still are not) any Seven DVD with SP1

I would like do from my DVD (or online) a "Repair Install". They are no way to do, unless I uninstall SPI (and all update from six months or so). I bought the official Microsoft SPI DVD, but event with it, no way to do a Repair Install.

They are genuine products, when bought SP1 was already issued, so I believe that Microsoft should stand behind it product, and offer a solution to repair install my (our) seven.

I positively do not want to start all over again, to reinstall all software and files, then hundreds of Windows Updates.

How could I do a "Repair Install" ? I have two full paid and official versions of Seven, one official Microsoft SPI, I feel very prejudiced (as thousands of Seven buyers since SPI) that I could not. Or could-I?

Thank you for a solution. A "Repair install" solution.

PS - English answer is fine but (if download solution) my both Seven are in French.

bon jour mariehelene.
Have a look at the tutorial below, it says you can do a repair install with a Windows 7SP1 disk.

Hi Britton,
Thank you for your fast reply.
I already knew about the suggested thread ( I even wanted to do a slipstream DVD, but it is say not to work for a "repair install")

I searched long way trough Technet and Microsoft to found an install disk for Seven with SP1 but never found that. The closest was the SPI dvd Update that I bought.

Foundind nothing else, I have Bought Microsoft SPI disk, but this is just the SPI Update and some tools (repair startup). It is no "repair install" on it, On the other hand, my former Seven DVD it refuse to /repair install" with SP1 (unless I desinstall SPI among lot of updates...)

If you have the real link to the (install) download, or buy a DVD (Sevent Ultimate 64bt install with SPI (if possible in french) I'll sure be so more than glad.

You're welcome, I've asked for some help for you. Are you able to burn a iso to make a bootable DVD?
Did you note Step 5 in the tutorial I linked to?

You can find some French version iso's here. http://www.mydigitallife.info/offici...digital-river/

Succeed!

Hi,
Sorry for the delay.

I downloaded Windows with SPI iso (thank so much for the link, in French, or other language, waw!). Download was very long, even on ADLS : 6 hours but worked smootly.
Burning the DVD was a little fussy (for me) but I founded a sotware on Microsoft website wich helped me do a bootable DVD, here's the link Créer une clé ou un DVD de boot Windows 7 : Windows 7

As I work on my PC, I was a little delayed, but finally I did the "repair install" this morning, and everything is as hoped for.

Eventought it was longer than a clean install (which I did twice before) I really appreciated not to have to remove SPI and Updates, resintall all sofware... and so. It is exactly what I wanted.

By the way, if French readers follow this instructions, in French, repair install option is call "Mise à Niveau" *(upgrade). Weird, but transations often are weird at Microsoft.

I wanted to thank you Britton, for your help, time, support, and specially the link.
Best wishes for 2012!

Marie

Good to hear you have done what you wanted. Repair Install is also referred to as In-Place Upgrade too, which is why it seems a bit confusing.
Thanks, you have a good 2012 too!
