Hi Lone wolf.
Dusty is on the way helping you. Just in case, you still curious about what is happening, you may try this another method I did in the past. It worked for me.
- Right click on [Computer] -> [Manage] get to Computer Management Screen
- Expand [local users and group] -> go to Users. You will see Administrator (built in account with down ward arrow on its icon)
- Right click on [Administrator] -> click on [Properties] -> Uncheck [Account is disabled] then [OK] -> you will see the arrow on the icon is gone. It means your built in administrator account is now enabled
- Right click on [Administrator] -> click [Set password] -> On warning, choose proceed (I assume you have never put any password into it) -> create password -> Then [OK]
- Restart your PC -> Log on with the built in Administrator (allow it take some time to finish logging on)
See if you can work from there.. :)
Kevin.
