Windows 7: Service Pack 1

Service Pack 1

I installed SP 1 for Windows 7 Home Edition (which I thought was already in) and it said it failed to install. I turned off my computer and it was configuring the SP. So my question is, what happened exactly? It gave the error code of 643 I think it was. It seems to be working (except for the fact that when it rebooted it was really slow at first and laggy, but now it's fine. I don't trust that it worked correctly. Don't want my computer not booting again and doing a new install after JUST installing this OS from my old OS Vista Home Basic.

I just did a complete re-install of Windows 7 Home Edition myself and when I installed SP1 it created a system restore point before the installation of SP1 started. I assume your copy of Windows 7 did the same thing so if you are concerned about SP1 not installing correctly, you could check to see if you have a restore point you could use.
