    Windows updates?

Am i the only one starting to wonder if theyre doing more harm then good with all the newer cutting edge security apps and what not? I like the concept of fixing things, but it seems like more and more all the updates from all the players are starting to conflict more and more. Or am i wrong?

How could security updates to an operating system possible do more harm than good? Whats the alternative?

You have to understand that software is dynamic environment....developers of operating systems have to counter the attempts of those aiming to find holes in it. Its unavoidable.

As for conflicts.....I don't get any, so I'm not sure what conflicts you are referring to.

    Hi Funfun

    No, you are certainly not.
Having that question is even good. If you refer to windows updates, all Golden says is the truth. You can set your own preferences in update setting whichever convenience to you. Some people out there are indeed creating some stigma about updates.

It is indeed annoying when you have a lot of installed programs also keep prompting you for updates. But you still have options, install as needed, be reminded again after certain period of time, or, even not to.

At last. Installing Windows and programs haven't been just already everything. Have it all up to date and meet your needs and system requirements is worth something, and it is inevitable.
