Hello there, I've been having a problem with two updates, for a long time. I've been ignoring them for a long time (bad idea, I know), but it's gotten to the point where it's preventing me from installing some programs.
Here is a pic of my recent update history.
As you can see, the two problem updates are:
Security Update for Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Service Pack 1 Redistributable Package (KB2538243)
and
Security Update for Windows 7 for x64-based Systems (KB2556532)
The second is saying it's successful, but it keeps trying to install, so it's obviously not successful...
As for the first one, that's the one I've been trying to fix.
Here are the error details, for this update:
I tried to manually install this update, from this link. (downloaded vcredist_x64.exe)
However, it gets to this part of the installation:
Hangs for several seconds, and then I get the following error message:
Here is a text version, of that error:
Does anyone know how I can go about getting these damn updates installed?
All help greatly appreciated.
