800B0100 error on 2 security updates, wont install

I ran Microsoft Fix It, that didnt help. I renamed the old folder(i forgot what it was called, i followed directions on how to do it from another post, it was a pretty standard procedure to try and fix it) that didnt help.

    It is for updates:

Security Update for .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2518869)
    Download size: 14.2 MB

    and

Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5.1 on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 for x64-based Systems (KB2572077)
    Download size: 11.0 MB

They are able to download but when i try to install them i get the error prompt saying they were not able to be installed. Thanks for any help.

    WOW.. After uninstalling both

Microsoft Games for Windows - Live Redistributable
    Microsoft Games for Windows Marketplace

Windows updater found 7 more updates that it wasnt finding before (some were even important system updates) Microsoft Games were installed. Unfortunatly it still didn't install the 2 Security updates mentioned in my original post, but the other 7 new updates were installed fine.

    Seriously.... w t f

    See if this helps.

    * Start > Control Panel > System & Security > Find & fix Problems >System Security > Fix problems with Windows Update.

    * If no joy you might run the
.NET Framework Cleanup Tool User's Guide - Aaron Stebner's WebLog - Site Home - MSDN Blogs
for the appropriate version of .Net Framework
& try to install it again.
    Reboot.

    *FYI.

.NET Updates cause more problems than all the others put together.

Have you tried a Clean Boot, and installing hte updates from there?

Not updating net framework leaves you buggy. and may leave security holes. Might want to fix it instead of passing on it.

Agreed - one of the major problems is that a later more critical update may not install, because it requires the earlier one that you ignore.

Those two updates were issued last year. One in July and one in October. Check to see if they're listed in your history as "Successful" or really missing. They might have been installed already.
