    Windows Update Trouble

My computer doesn't seem to be able to download service pack 1 for windows 7(KB976932). It says there is a file missing(on my computer) All other updates have downloaded sucessfully.

Are you positive? Have you hidden any updates. Windows 7 goes through a specific update order to finally come to SP1.

Excuse my ignorance, but how would you hide updates?

I would have thought that downloading SP1 separately and installing the SP1 from the downloaded SP1 Setup were mutually exclusive activities.

Here the OP says that he is unable to download SP1. I suggest that you try downloading it in Safe Mode with Network Connectivity and see if that succeeds. Although I haven't tried I think it would even be downloadable in the Windows XP environment.

To hide an update you would right click on it and a hide update popup appears. I choose to hide Internet Explorer 9.

Give Wanchoos suggestion a try. Let us know what happens.

Ok thanks, if unsucessful I will copy the exact message and file it says is missing. It is the first time I have ever experienced this type of problem with updates. Every other update since has installed ok. Basically it attempts to download this update and after quite awhile, the error message(which # I need to copy and give you also) appears. Ok Thanks again may deal with this tommorrow(yawn).
