    installing windows 8

    Hi,
I'm downloading the consumer preview of windows 8, and I have some questions..

    1) Is this beta release of Windows 8 updatable? can i update it without installing everytime a new version?
    2) When Windows 8 will be officially released, can I update my Windows 7 32-bit without saving all my documents and applications? (like the update from Vista to 7)
    3) Will Windows 8 Beta work on this computer?:
    - Intel Pentium 4 Northwood @2,53 GHz
    - 2GB DDR PC-3200
    - Radeon 9600 Pro AGP 8x 256 MB DDR (i'm going to buy an HD 2xxx/3xxx/4xxx if necessary)
    - Asus P4P8X motherboard
(Windows 7 worked, but without Aero effects because Windows 7 doesn't support SiS driver of the P4P8X)

1- No one knows, but probably not.

2-Again we dont know but if win 7 gives any clue I doubt it.

    3-Barely and probably not Aero/metro.

One key thing is your computer has to be able to display at least 1024 x 768 resolution or it wont work.

Anytime. Your biggest bang for the buck would probably be more RAM, then a video card.

ok.. and will it work fine on:

    Intel Core 2 Duo E6300 (@1,86GHz X2, with 64bit support)
    3 GB DDR2 dual-channel @667MHz
    PNY GTS 450 1GB GGDR5
    ASUS P5LP-LE (Leonite)
    (I run Win 7 32bit and it's very fast)

and on an Acer Aspire One:

    Intel Atom N270 (@1,60 GHz, 1X +Hypertreading)
    1,5 GB DDR2 @667MHz
    Intel GMA 945

ok, I installed it and works great! Aero is supported too! Windows 7 didn't recognize SiS driver for the ASUS P4P8X... but Windows 8 did it!

I'm running it on a Pentium 4 Northwood @2,53GHz, 2 GB RAM and a Radeon 9600 Pro (256 MB DDR)... The system is fast (not very fast, but i'm able to do a lot of things).

Aero effects are slow (because the Radeon 9600 Pro is VERY old), so i'll buy a new AGP grapics card on ebay (like the Radeon HD 3650)
