are retail window seven with SP1 available ?

As in April 2012, long time after SP1 reldase, are the retails windows 7 DVD avalaible in stores including SP1 ?
Or does one still have to downlad all updates since the begenning, and loose "repair tools" and so.

I suppose (hope) that after such time, it is not the same old stuff

If not, if one dowload windows 7 family from Microsoft website at this point (april 2012) will that be a full (includind SP1 version) version, or still the old passé one ?
No information (bad sign usually) on their downloading website.

    Thank you
    Marie

Retail Win7 with SP1 has been available since April 2011.

You can download the ISO files from the DigitalRiver servers by following the links from Microsoft

    Thank for the suggestion
I did it las year to have a full 7 integral intallation and the repair tools work fine by the way.

As i need another licence (7 family and 32 bits) for my laptop, i was wondering
    - if 7 relail boxes with SP1 are marked so (salemen don't seem quite sure) and i did not see any mention on the boxes.

    - Or i I dowload 7 from microsoft website, it this will be a SP1 integrated...., or plain outdated software.

I surely don't want to do again days and days of updates.

If you download from MS, SP1 will be included.

If you buy a physical disk online, it should be so indicated, such as here:

    Newegg.com - Microsoft Windows 7 Professional SP1 32-bit - Operating Systems

If you go into Best Buy or somewhere like that, I'm not sure what you would actually see in print on the box.

    Hi ignatzatsonic

Thank yous much for such a clear answer. It was exactly what i was looking for.

Think to all the dull days of donwloading after donwloading you spared me. Last time it was 2 full week or so...

    I really appreciated your time.

The priority is to purchase a valid license.
Such licenses ALWAYS include software - either by download (if you purchase the license from teh MS Store) or on disk (if you purchase ANYWHERE else!).

DO NOT be tempted by cut-price offers on eBAy or Craigslist or similar - the vast majority are counterfeits.

Purchase from known good sources (it doesn't take much googling) and you won't be disappointed or defrauded. The second most important thing to know is which edition you need - and then whether you can get away with an upgrade or a FUll Retail edition..

    Noel,

I do not understand the point. I never talked about buying software from ebay.

As told in my firt post, (and again in others) I wanted to buy seven from a legit retail store (like Best Buy) or download it from Microsoft website.

But I wanted to be sure that I get a full (including SPI) dvd or downlaod,
not an out-dated (no SP1) one.

As box are not marked SP1 and as Microsoft website did not specify it either, I wanted to be sure.

Not to speak for Noel - but it is sometimes best to answer "questions not asked" - so to speak - because others will find your thread via searches. You have a good thread title.

I'll chime in on the problems of buying this type of item from a brick and mortar retail store: If the store has a restocking fee or they make it hard (or impossible) to return software - then I get the manager to answer the question and have him put it in writing that I can return the item without cost if his answer proves to be wrong.

Retail media do usualy state 'Includes Service Pack 1' on the case, and on the disks - there should be no need for confusion.
