Windows 7 activation with new product key

    Hi
Recently I have purchased new product key for windows 7 professional from microsoft, before that my last product key was expired & there appeared "Genuine Notification".
I changed my new product key and activate it through command prompt process available commonly on net, still "Genuine Notification" was there with black screen on desktop, then I searched on some forum & removed (uninstall) Microsoft Windows Update for update KB971033. Reboot, still have same Genuine Notification, moreover in system properties still it is showing the old product key, not the new one.

Please help me activate my windows 7 with new product key,
    Thanks

I m also pasting the diagnostics of "MGADiag"

Your current Key is for a Volume License, and appears to be properly activated.
Having said that, if you were getting non-genuine notices with the WAT Update (KB971033) installed, I'm fairly certain what the problem is.

IS the Key shown in the report that same as the last 5 characters in your Key? If so, then you were given a counterfeit.
If not, please reinstall the WAT update, and run another MGDiag report, and post the results.

Yeah the last 5 character of key in MGADiag report is same as my new product key,

so what should I do in this case??? should I re-install WAT (KB971033) again?

& why this new key is not showing in My Computer Properties? Why still the old key is there?

    Hi people

to get both the product key AND serial number that is currently installed on your PC run this

Belarc Advisor - Free Personal PC Audit

enc screenshot (even recognized I am running W8 CP !!).

I posted this in the OFFICE forum as someone was having problems with Office keys but it works for Windows itself too.

    sample screenshot below.

Much easier than "Registry" hacks and obscure Commands.

    Cheers

Unless this Key came from your employer or college it is a counterfeit ( no motter what MGADiag or activation say)

    jimbo,
I'm also fond of Belarc and also of SIW.
Buy SIW Pro or Download SIW Home Edition

    Under Software | Licenses
Windows 7 activation with new product key-siw-licenses.png

I blacked out the license info.

First off valid license keys do not expire, ever. So your original key was never valid.

Your best bet is to backup your personal files and Reinstall the OS clean using the new Valid key. That is if the new key you have is really a valid key or another like the first one you used.

It is not possible to legally purchase MAK Keys - from MS or anywhere else - for less than 5 machines at a time.

You state in your original post that you purchased this Key from MS. That is not possible either - MS do not direct sell MAK Keys except to multinationals.

Where did you actually purchase this Key from?

The installation is currently showing as genuine - what happens if you now visit Validation, at www.microsoft.com/genuine/validate ?

[Oh - and unless you got your copy of OIffice through an employer or college, that is also counterfeit.]

you are right that I downloaded this copy through my university from Microsoft Portal, & it comes with that for 24 months validation

I just visited Genuine Microsoft Software , and it is indicating that the windows installed on my PC is genuine.......... so it's mean it's ok now???? I can use all the essential utilities of Microsoft.......right?
