    Hell t-4-2,

Sure you could hide the update if you like. However, if you are getting the update, then it usually means that you have the Bing Bar installed. You might check in Programs and Features to see if Bing Bar is listed to uninstall it if you like to no longer get updates for it.

    EDIT:
LOL, looks like we were thinking the same thing. :)

Thank you. I'll go do the uninstall.

P.S. Can't give you rep points. I have to spread it around, the message box said.
You don't need it anyway, right ? You have got zillions already.

So what if Bing bar is not installed (not in Programs/Features) at all? I just got the "important" update plus the optional for the BING Desktop and I am as anti-bing as one can get. How do I get these out of my updates listings?

    Thx

Hello MJ, and welcome to Seven Forums.

Bing Desktop is not the same as the Bing Bar. You can just hide the Bing Desktop Windows update if you do not wish to install it. :)

    Hope this helps,

THanks for the answers. Yet the issue still remains unanswered:

bing bar is not installed yet it appears in my windows updates. How do I get rid of it?

Sorry, I thought I answered that for you in my post above.

Do you mean Bing Bar or Bing Desktop in Windows Update since these are two separate items?

In your first post, you said you had Bing Desktop in Windows Update. Either way, you can use the tutorial below to hide it as I posted above to no longer have it in Windows Update.
