Hello deziking and welcome to Seven Forums.

The cause for this error code might be a high number of update requests on the Windows Update servers. Close Windows Update, wait 10 to 15 minutes, and then run Windows Update again. Or you could try to manually select and update just a few updates at a time, run your computer for a while, and if no problems occur, install the next few updates. An added advantage to updating just a few at a time is if an update causes problems you'll know exactly which group it's in. Uninstall that group then reinstall one at a time.

If you continue to receive this error, it might mean that a program running on your computer is preventing Windows Update Services (SVCHOST) from accessing the Internet. Programs that might do this include 3rd party firewalls, web accelerators, antivirus and/or antispyware programs, and proxy servers.

You could try these Microsoft solutions:

Temporary connection-related errors may occur when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update

How do I reset Windows Update components?

Hi thanks! Thanks for all the info tried all of it till to point where do it manually. Clicked on .msp file and got message "the upgrade patch cannot be installed by the windows installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch." I think it's looking for office xp version that was installed with the computer when I bought it "gateway" but I uninstalled it because words would freeze if I open any docs and the update would fail that was installed with the office. So what do I do now? Man I also get bluescreens sometimes right when the warranty expires, I dont want to format the hdd, I've got a lot of stuff on here. Man when I first bought this pc, I was able to play games like anno 1404, sims 3 and now it just gets to blue screen after playing a bit.

EDIT: downloaded the 64 version and should of been 32 bit, after downloading correct bit installed it. But still get the same error. I looked at the installed updates and can't even find update KB2494150

If you've been unsuccessful in fixing the problem with those three Microsoft links, you could try two more options. First is checking to see if you have any damaged or corrupt system files. Run a System File Checker scan from an elevated command prompt (option two.) If any problems are found run the scan 3 times rebooting in betwen each scan.

SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

The other option is a Repair Install to try to fix your currently installed Windows 7 and preserve your user accounts, data, programs, system drivers, etc. There are several warnings.

Option 1 tried it twice. Message: Verification 100% Complete. Windows resource protection did not find any integrity violations.

I'll try step 2 now. report back in few.

EDIT: Went through step 2 installed system files without formatting and currently windows is uptodate! No problems here thanks!
